03:14 pm - Dividing and multiplying
The Denton Stake met by Internet transmission this morning to reorganize the ward boundaries. The old Denton 1st Ward lost the little piece of Denton it had, and became the Aubrey Ward. Sanger is now part of the new DENTON 1st WARD. Too weird!
The Denton Third Ward is now Krum, Ponder and a big chunk of west Denton.
The Justin Ward is the south west corner of Denton County and the south east corner of Wise County. They will be meeting in the brand new Bonds Ranch building in Haslett. They will be sharing the building with a ward from the Hurst Stake and another ward from the Colleyville Stake.
Got it? All this growth is confusing me. Oh well, we have to divide so we can multiply.

08:31 am - Blackberries
Went blackberry picking this morning. It took us 20 minutes to pick our $15 gallon. I just put the first cobbler in the oven. Guess what I'm bringing to the Fourth of July potluck!
There were probably about 100 people there (30 cars and no one came alone). As we were leaving there were at least six other cars pulling in. We got our gallon from about 1/3 of a row, so I think there will be enough for everyone, but I bet there won't be any ripe ones left by 10:00. (We got there when it opened at 7:00, and so did at least 50 other people).

09:15 pm - Brief update
Dave spent a week with his brother, Tom, in Arizona in early May. I should send him by air every time he goes out to Arizona, 'cause he can't bring home as many rocks when he flies home as he can when he drives! The rocks he chose to bring home were beautiful, worth bringing home. (Unlike many on our front porch from previous trips.)
With a lot of help (including Kid), I repainted the meeting room at the library. Then we put in new carpet. The finished room looks great.
Helped Annie move in to a new place, a very nice place. May she be happy there.
Kyrie's homeschooling group put on a play. Kyrie did very well in one of the lead parts. She seemed very natural and sincere in her presentation. She said she was a little nervous at first, but the audience couldn't tell it.
Yesterday, I helped a friend hold a garage sale. Thanks, Meggan, for your donations to the cause. My friend is trying to help her bank account recover from "abuse" by someone she trusted.

06:29 pm - National Library Week
We started National Library Week off with a City of Sanger Truck Roundup. All the other city departments brought their trucks and equipment so the public could come and examine them up close. Target audience: boys age 2 to 8. Kids' favorites: back hoe, bucket truck, fire truck and police car. Different departments vied in allowing interaction. The police let the kids hit the siren, so the fire department did, too. So then the electric department let the kids run the remote controlled "backyard machine". A great success.
The rest of the week, we did "Food for Fines"; anybody who wanted to have their fine forgiven brought food to donate to the Crisis Center.
On Thursday, I went to a meeting of the North Texas Library Consortium, where I shared how I had begun filling out the mapping documents for the new ILS. It helped several other libraries get a handle on how they might do it.
On Friday night, Dave and I went to the Book Trails Dinner where the library received a grant of $1000 to strengthen children's services. We will use the money for books, graphic novels (comic books) and a performer for the Summer Reading Club.
Saturday was the North Texas Book Festival. I didn't go because I was coming down with a cold, but I did go to help clean up. There were only four of us putting chairs and tables away. I wish I had called the scouts.
I stayed home from church today because of my cold. Not going to church makes me feel melancholy and neglected.

07:27 pm - Icy
When I went out to the truck this morning, Dave came out to chip the ice off the windshield. After about 15 seconds, I realized that it was going to take a long time to get it clear. So I told him not to bother and rode my bike. I got it to work in less time than it would have taken to de-ice the windshield. I DID put on sweat pants over my tights, though. AND I wore the scarf that Marianne made for me - it is small enough to fit in my coat pocket and under my bike helmet, but big enough to keep my ears warm.

08:27 pm - Utility construction
The City has been putting new water lines, sewer lines and storm sewers under our street. If we aren't out of the driveway by about 7:30 AM, we won't be getting out. We live on a dirt road as a result.
But they are now almost done. I'm thinking maybe two more weeks. Then we will have curbs and gutters and a concrete street. WOW.

12:47 pm - Progress?
Christmas was hard, but my children tried to make it better.
My husband's birthday - sorry, hon, that I wasn't more cheerful.
New Year's Day, sailing with my sister. A peaceful, restful day.
I thank Caren, Gretchen, Ginny and many others for helping me move forward. I hope I can help others in my family in the same way.

11:56 pm - saddest
These last two days have been the saddest I can remember.
A guy that I have learned to love has decided that he can't stand to be married to my daughter any more. I had hoped that my sweet, sensitive, and yes, imperfect daughter was safe. But, sometimes, things are not forever. Yesterday and today I was helping her sort and pack and move to her brother's house. At least most of my crying was while I was by myself. And their child only caught me crying once.
May the Lord touch and heal every heart.
I AM so grateful for my husband who is so patient with me.
I am so grateful to my son for helping his little sister in this way.
The rest of you who have married my children, I love you so much. Thanks for being in our family.
Just like last month, today I got to see all my grandchildren. That made today bearable.

The last time I had an accident like this I was 18. Hopefully, this lesson will last at least as long as that one did.
